Tennessee travel nursing has a variety of attractions. Signs on the inbound interstate used to read "The Three States of Tennessee", referring to the states division into three sections-east, middle and west. These terms originated in geography, but they reflect cultural differences as well.
East Tennessee attracts visitors to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Gatlinburg is the headquarters and gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and has been the Smokies' leading center for fine arts and crafts for many years. It thrives today tucked into its high mountain valleys besides the rushing Little River and dozens of tumbling streams flowing out of the 520,000 acre National Park.
Middle Tennessee is home to the capital city of Nashville, with a musical identity unlike any other city's. Heralded as Music City, USA, and the country-music capital of the world, Tennessee's fast-growing capital city also shines as a leading center of higher education.
West Tennessee's flat cotton fields stretch between the Tennessee and Mississippi rivers. Barbecue, Beale Street and the blues. These are the things for which Memphis is best known-these and a certain rock and roller named Elvis Presley. But this city on the Mississippi is home to much more than just Graceland.
Tennessee has a temperate climate, with warm, humid summers and cool winters. Temperatures are generally cooler at higher elevations. Both Nashville and Knoxville have average annual temperatures of about 60 degrees. Annual snowfall is about 4-8 inches, but parts of the mountains can receive about 15 inches per year.
